Hi Guys,

I am an EP holder, single, and working in Singapore for 2 years now. I am planning to apply for US B2 (Tourist) visa.

Please suggest if I should apply for the visa from US embassy in Singapore or my home country, Pakistan ?

I have been told that the ties to the home country are critical for visa acceptance, and it is recommended to apply from home country. I have a job in Singapore; applying from Pakistan would be ambiguous to visa officer that I would be returning/staying in SG for at least few years. Whereas if applying from Singapore, the only tie is my job, I can provide iras certificates, salary slips, Singapore bank account details, and proof from the current employer that I will be returning to work.

Any suggestions where I should proceed my application at ?

Depending on your religion and who wins the US elections, you might want to think about your plans and hold off at least till after the November election.

i would think that if your life is (currently) in singapore, it would be very weird for you to apply for a visa in pakistan - but that's just me.
