Mechanical Engineer Relocation Possibilities

Post by sameerkpy » Sun, 25 Sep 2016 4:25 pm

Hello All,

I am Mechanical Engineer specialized in Energy, Sustainability & Project Management. Currently i am working in dubai and planning to relocate to Singapore. I have total of 7 years of experience, 3 years in Dubai & 4 years in India.

Also I am a Certified Energy Manager From Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and LEED professional from US green building council.

I am not that familiar with the Singapore job market and looking for inputs from maker experts who are working in similar industry or as in general.

Do i need any specific mandatory criteria to be met to apply for a job position or to apply for Work permit. Appreciate all your inputs.

I tried the eligibility test in MOM website & its showing i am eligible to apply for permits.

Thanks in advance.

As long as your experience/academic credentials meet the SAT on the MOM website all you now need is a potential employer who has offered you a job and you have given your agreement. They will then apply for your Employment Pass/S Pass/Work Permit (which ever one you qualify for). The SAT is not a guarantee of an employment pass, but only qualifying you as to whether you can apply or not. You have passed the 1st hurdle. The employer also need to justify to the MOM why it needs to higher a foreigner to the MOM as well. Also, if you are only eligible for a S pass than the employer must have the necessary quota allocation as well.
