Please Help! Cheapest Hostel in SG

Post by anaram » Sun, 18 Sep 2016 10:51 pm

We are in a bit of desperation; my Singaporean girlfriend needs to work in SG for 2-3 months, but her parents rented out her room. Does anyone know where we could find the cheapest accommodation, i'd assume a hostel, for this timeframe? Please advise!

IF she is a Singaporean, where was she living before? Doesn't she have any relatives or friends who can put her up?

You can negotiate monthly rate with any of the many hostels here.

15$ x 30 days ... for a bed and locker

She is Singaporean, but her parents can't put us both up; her friends can only put us up on a short-term basis. Can you recommend any in particular? We are in India at the moment; do you think we'd be okay waiting to negotiate till once we arrive in Singapore? Thanks for your help!

Can anyone endorse jeffreyrental.blogspot.sg? Any recommendations for securing an apartment through their listenings? Thanks again!

No

If somebody endorses and sh*t happens are you gonna blame the one who endorsed?

Be a man, and man up.

Do your proper due diligence than pushing the blame Image

Do your own search. You will be spoilt for choices.

Of course, since you sound like a privileged Indian - feel free to pay any agent.

OP - Little India (Dunlop St and surrounding streets) has probably a dozen backpacking places that offer long term rates. I have met Singaporean's there before who have resorted to staying in those places due to similar issues. You can easily negotiate once landed. I would NOT pay for a month up front but maybe a few days and move every few days as you're spoilt for choice and you can move around until you find a place you really like then negotiate a deal on a weekly basis.

Are there any non-agent listing databases beyond craigslist? Thanks again for any help!

Yeah. I don't know about Indians ;) or my distant 'cousins'.

The best people in the world to get others to do their work. With a lot of sweet talk ...

Nuff said :)

Since your girl friend in a Singaporean she should know which area she prefers and then start emailing.

Oh, none of us here are agents -

This forum is sponsored by property agency.

You can check ., locanto and such as well.

As PNGMK advised, don't commit until you get here.

For your kind review ...

people said the same thing about the jews; led to ww2. not sure racism is the way to go in the 21st century. have some heart.look at political, economic, social and religious ramifications of yr gentrifying 'work-ethic'. indians make up a good amount of yr working class; don't be racist or classist. maybe try for some compassion, conscience, and perspective.

OP - pull your head in. You come from a country that promulgates and institutionalizes some of the worse classism in the world. None of your diaspora who fled generations ago are interested in seeing India and her problems spread to the greater world.

Oh ho.

Racist?

Like how the guys in mother land treat my folks when they go there ? Or does that not count? Or how certain states are treated like low class in mother land ? Nope, I guess that too doesn't count.

I just told you to do some leg work instead of passing the buck and you call me out. Nice !!!!
