Worth using health insurance broker?

Hi all,
Tried to find this information on previous threads, but not having much luck. Is it best, with regards to health insurance for a foreign worker, to use an insurance broker, or just go to a price comparison website?

Employers aren't required to provide medical insurance for EP holders

You can select a group insurance for out patient and surgical from the insurers directly.
Or go all our and get agent / broker who would happily throw in dental, life, travel and what not
Its all based on how much you can afford or want to give as benefit to the employee.

The company is providing me with health insurance, and providing an allowance for my wife - so need to find the best option for her (needs to include maternity).

Ah ha.
Then approach the same insurance company
Others will try to up sell policies you won't need.
For maternity, there are lot of exclusions.
Read them properly before signing.

Hi Greenapore, have you found a health insurance for your wife?
I've been speaking with a broker. Best they can get is around $600 / month with maternity on a 10 month wait plan and all direct billing, with zero excess. I have no idea if this is good/bad!

Don't get too stressed about it! Check out what the policy offers and covers. Most important is to meet your needs

That sounds about good if the exclusions are clear.
But 10 month wait, plus 10 month pregnancy..
Check prudential!
They didn't have such a long wait period.
