Applying LTVP with an ongoing PR application

Has anybody ever experienced applying for a LTVP, while you had an ongoing PR application?

As far as I know, we are technically allowed to have two ongoing application with ICA, but whether or not one affects the other applications outcome remains a question to us.

I got married just a few months ago to a citizen, and prior to that we applied for a LTVP Pre-assessment during Nov 2015 in which the validity will be expiring soon (1 year validity). Hence the concern of not wasting the Pre-assessment validity, but worried that PR application will be rejected due to lodging a LTVP application. PR application was lodged just a few weeks ago.

(Currently an EP holder, but looking forward to get PR to rest and possibly start family soon.)

Have heard of some of them who were on LTVP and then applied for PR.

If you are married recently and if you have applied for PR, using your spouse sponsorship your chances for PR would be less.

Best is to wait for 2-3 years and apply for PR using your spouse as the sponsor and your chances would be high.

Anyway, I think PR application and a new LTVP application in parallel should be ok.

happy to report that LTVP was approved early October, and surprisingly PR also approved last week!
