Post by jianha » Mon, 29 Aug 2016 5:19 pm

Hi
Can you give me advice?
I have applied 2 times PR and Today is 2nd rejected day. :(

I am a designer on construction industry and my husband is a software engineer.
We are both from S.Korea / no kid / working and staying Singapore over 5 years. We both have Bachelor degree and I have advance diploma(1 year course) & Certificate from Singapore academy.
Our first reject date on last Dec (Waiting 6 months) and we have appealed this April and got rejected again today (Waiting around 5 months)

Can you give me advise that Can we do re-applying again as appeal? due to We both got increase salary recently and I got promoted 1 month ago.

You need to continue your improvements. Don't reapply to rapidly. Wait a year between applications. You need to ensure that Singapore sees you as future Singapore citizens - having a family will help.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.

with the tightened immigration rules, getting PR is like winning the lottery.

In this case, if you can show some change from the previous submission, it should be seen favorably by ICA. If nothing much changed, then delay and apply later.

Longer you live in Singapore, typically better chances.

Any SIGNIFICANT change in your salary etc., may also help. But if this is just like 10%, I would not even bother.

And as PNMG said, produce some offspring, male preferred.

I really not know that How much changes will be good. From last applying PR, Me and my husband we increased each $300 increase and I got promote as designer from senior drafter. Is it not big changes?

As harsh as it sounds a key factor in Singapore's immigration policy is addressing the demographics of an aging population and adjust the race category 'buckets' and truthfully 50% or more of the reason PR even exists now; (the other two reasons are bringing in gifted personnel and family reunion [i.e. marriage] - both rarer now). Two fertile adults are great for TFR but not proven until they produce offspring. Where are Korean's categorised anyways? "Others"? If so the effective quota is very low - roughly a 1% to 3% of the annual PR intake of ~25,000 people (that's about 250 to 750 people for math challenged non-Koreans).

What did your rejection letter say? It may give some hints on how you should proceed
