It only means that NUS did not have sufficient concern to deny admission in the past, at that point in time. That's as far as it goes.

Years ago NUS and NTU were going over board by inviting a lot of Masters students .. with generous grants and stipends thrown in.
The candidates were all not necessarily from the likes of IIT or REC and such.
And a vast majority I knew, post graduation, took off to US.

My comment applied equally to a Harvard A.B. degree holder who graduated summa cum laude with excellent documentation and to a graduate of an unknown and unranked university in Botswana (to pick an example) with shaky documentation. It doesn't matter. NUS's judgment at a point in time was NUS's judgment at a point in time. Nothing more, nothing less. (NUS could have been fooled or mistaken, with anybody.) If somebody (e.g. ICA) now wants to investigate the quality and authenticity of a particular antecedent academic credential, that somebody still has to investigate the quality and authenticity of that particular academic credential.

Actually NUS revoked some professor or somebody's papers based on his past something - not one but 3 - and sad to say, all 3 were from Motherland!
