ICS (Int'l Community School - very close to Clementi) runs programs for 4 year olds upwards on that keep them in school from 730 to 2pm. What some parents do is have a FDW (maid) pick up their kids after that and take them home so they can work full time.

Thank you, my husband is not quite comfortable with the idea of a live-in and wants me to locate an after school daycare. Is the system there set up similar to the US after school programs? Meaning a daycare could pick my son up from school and keep him until we get off work?

Picking up would be an issue; I don't know of any day care that does that although ICS and other schools have bus services that might drop your child off at one. That's another reason why people use FDW. There are plenty of day care options for after school care for sure.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

Apologies, I'm still trying to understand, so I could either in Rome a child in a school program but I would have to figure out how to get them from the school to the daycare after? If that is so then it makes more sense I believe to locate a school for him first and then work with the school to see which day cares they partner with. Is this system not as prevalent over there as over in the US?

No, there is no partnership. You need to find day care yourself. They are independent of each other although the school may have a list of places to ask.
