For the stomp/social media blasting: I'm in two minds about it, but mostly aganist it, except for extreme circumstances.

I would actually be very careful with extreme circumstances. Extreme cases trigger strong emotions and people tend to make a lot of assumptions based on it. For such cases one had to be absolutely sure, what was reported was what really happened, not what appeared to happen.
