I thought "Let's apply for a flat" was the STANDARD marriage proposal in Singapore. That seems to be about as romantic as it gets, except for spending a whole year's salary on a wedding that wont be remembered by anybody except the bride. With the TFR here at only 1.13 obviously not much else is in the cards.Barnsley wrote: Who said Romance is dead![]()

Well, According to the new rules, PR is not required.riri85 wrote:Yesssss... since my plan is 2 kids.. they should let me get married and give my wife to be PR asap hahahaha
Apparently you already have a few "kids" in the home. They just happen to be bigger and older than most.riri85 wrote:Well... I don't really wanna have kids in my current house!
Its gonna be squeezy. Parents + Brother + wife + me + kids = die?
ToeToe wrote: ↑Sun, 27 Apr 2025 5:53 pmi don't know if anyone is still reading this post or not. But i am in a similar position as the OP :v, just the other way around. I am an indonesian chinese male, i have dated my Singaporean Chinese gf for almost 4 years before we decided to tie the knot 2 months ago. i am 25 this year and she's 24. Planning on getting LTVP but at the same time we are also anxious, my wife earns 2.3k a month, and based on our "googling research", we have a very little chance of getting our LTVP accepted because.. well.. based on the ICA criteria, she's not earning enough as a sponsor. we did PMLA and it got rejected back then, she was earning much less than that as a part timer but she decided to get a full time job in order to earn more and be more eligible for our LTVP as the sponsor.
as for me, i personally could've just bid my time and wait, but i don't really want her to shoulder everything alone so i decided to test my luck on work permit, 4 years of experience in retail and sales industry, so i have been applying on retail/sales jobs, so far its been rejection after rejections but well, it is job hunting after all.
We are still going to try our luck on LTVP after my wife has worked for quite a few months there to get the Pay slip records.
so i wanna ask if there's any advice from senior's here or any update from the OP if you guys managed to be together in SG, would love to hear more, and if y'all need more questions, i am more than happy to answer as long as it doesn't get too personal![]()

Btw once u officially married u may just apply ltvp , even your spouse (citizen) not in full time work, even there only 1 month payslip normally won’t be issue just that the duration ica granted to u like 1-5year+ToeToe wrote: ↑Tue, 29 Apr 2025 11:25 amYah we have been officially married in singapore for 2 months now.niceit198 wrote: ↑Tue, 29 Apr 2025 11:13 am1st as long u both been married , for citizen-foreigner couple , ltvp is just no problem to get. and no before both of us got married, i have never worked in singapore, only a visits here and there.
i am not sure what you mean by "After u work in singapore only get married" but when i got married to her, i am indeed, unemployed(i just quit my job a few months prior).
Oh what ? I thought she would have atleast get 6 months of payslips first O.o that is actually an extremely good news for us, thank you so much !!niceit198 wrote: ↑Tue, 29 Apr 2025 11:13 pmBtw once u officially married u may just apply ltvp , even your spouse (citizen) not in full time work, even there only 1 month payslip normally won’t be issue just that the duration ica granted to u like 1-5year+ToeToe wrote: ↑Tue, 29 Apr 2025 11:25 amYah we have been officially married in singapore for 2 months now.

For spouse PR case then not apply , “sponsor and support are more strict.
For Some person work in Singapore before if don’t get approval prior married then ltvp may difficult. Since u never worked in Singapore before married then just as normal process.
Btw as u on visit entry ? Like 30days ? When expired how u doing it ?
Yes that is very true. Still too early to celebrate, and yea, we will try and apply for the LTVP soon and if not successful, we will try again in november(where she would definitely have 6 months worth of payslips).
