Adultery Philippines
Scenario
Filipina is married (in Philippines).
Separated.
Meets Englishman in Sg. They both travel to Manila.
They are arrested for "committing adultery".
[subtext: "pay and we let you both go"]
Question
Is that possible legally?

Re: RE: Adultery Philippines
There's at least 4 guys in NBP for the above mentioned crime.martincymru wrote:Adultery Philippines

Yes, it's perfectly correct.
Unless the separation of the previous marriage is legal and / or the marriage is annulled, the new guy has 99% chance of ending up in NBP.
The 1% is when the ex is generous or doesn't care.
PS, under their law the new guy could be forced to pay compensation to the ex and / or forced to give a monthly maintenance to the ex + kids, even though the ex may gave been MIA for a long time. And a lot of pro bono lawyers advertise offering free advice, parking this kind of issues under marital abuse.
Let me look up the Republic Act in this regards.
