Singapore teachers salary

Post by scubajunky » Tue, 19 Jul 2016 4:19 am

I have just interviewed for a School in Singapore and wondered if you would mind helping me out ?
The salary is $6,000 Singapore dollars per month with no housing allowance, medical cover is included. What would be the minimum salary to enjoy a comfy lifestyle and be able to explore the region and save a little.
It seems low to me, I don't want to struggle month to month and not enjoy the benefits of being in such a place.
Thanks in advance, please respond ASAP as I need to make a decision.

That's pretty normal for a mid range International School. You'll have to share an apartment to make it work but we (my wife teaches) know dozens of teachers on that rate or close to it.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!
