A little about me
Qualifications: BA (first class honours degree), MA TESOL, PGCE in Spanish and French
I’m looking for some opportunities to teach EFL in Singapore. I don’t see much from abroad and some that I’ve seen don’t pay much.
The reason I’m not going for International Schools is that I don’t have any post-PGCE home experience and my degree does not match the subjects (Spanish and French) I teach. I know that this is a problem for International Schools in that good ones will require your degree to match the subject you have a teaching license in, so TEFL it is for the moment.
Would I be right in saying for a decent 1 bedroom apartment would set me back 2,000 SGD? How much would the average TEFL salary be? Of course I could also teach Spanish but not sure if there is much demand for that.
