I disagree. Refer to point #5 in this article. We are probably living in the most peaceful time in human history right now. We can always do better, and we should, but there's a lot to celebrate.

This seems to be referencing the USA fella....

I am pretty sure the rest of the world are thinking differently.

No, Point #5 is not, which is why I kindly directed readers to Point #5. Point #5 is about the peacefulness of the world as a whole.

With respect to France, specifically, I'm quite sure France had many more and bigger problems in the first half of the 20th century. These are by no means the saddest times for France. She will get past this.
