Post by Mickey3 » Fri, 08 Jul 2016 11:56 pm

Yes - it will be an issue. After all, consider the second word in "permanent resident"... ICA will want to know you are actually resident. If you've lived in several places in Singapore, and you were there legally before PR, you will have had to report all your addresses to MoM. They will have a record. Did you report your addresses?

Do the best you can in your application. At least try to get the post codes and months correct. (You can refer to maps and lookup post codes online. Every building has one.) For example, if you don't remember an apartment number but do remember a floor, put that (e.g. "4F"). If you don't remember the exact day you moved (understandable!), at least try to get the month right. Etcetera. Pull out tax returns, electric bills, or whatever else you have in your records to refresh your memory.

As Strong Eagle mentioned, you're obliged to keep the Ministry of Manpower (or ICA, as applicable) informed of your residential addresses in Singapore. Either way, that doesn't mean you should attempt to lie on your PR application. Make a good faith effort to provide truthful, complete information in your PR application -- even if it won't exactly match what you told (or didn't tell) the MoM.

Thanks a lot guys ! That's really helpful... When I first came was on a holiday working visa before I got an EP so moved around quite a bit.. Maybe stayed at 5 places before my current place for the last 1.5 year. Don't think I changed it with Mom each time.. I'll try to fill in as best as I can.. Thanks !!!

If you just completely forgot and have no records for a particular period of time, then you can insert something like this:

06/2010-09/2010: Temporary Housing in Singapore (3 Locations)

If that's the best you can do then so be it. Include as much precision as you're able. For example, if you can put "Serviced Apartments" instead of "Housing," do that. If you can be even more precise and put "Ascott Serviced Apartments," do that. (Although if you remember that much you probably can find post codes.) Or "University Housing," or "HDB Sublets" -- whatever.

Consider yourself lucky, though. They only want the past 5 years. I recall one application I filled out that asked for all my residential addresses since birth. That was tougher. ;)
