Teaching in Singapore

Post by Angelus » Tue, 21 Jun 2016 6:47 pm

Hi, I have a question pertaining to teaching in private education in Singapore. Is there any requirement to register for a license with the government (MOE) before you can start teaching? If there is, who applies for this license (employer or employee) and where can it be applied?

Thank you.

Not as far as I know. The school does need to have certified by the EduTrust (a local accreditation system) and of course you need to satisfy any requirements the school may have with regards to their foreign accreditation group. However I've seen enough nepotism in a certain leaf logo bearing school where the HM and DHM put unqualified teachers into positions that I doubt it's a real issue to get around.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
