Moving to Singapore on Male dependent – Please need your suggestions.

Post by Atul_Gade » Sun, 19 Jun 2016 3:44 pm

Hello all,
My family (Myself and Wife) are planning to move Singapore from India as wife is getting opportunity to work in Singapore (getting long term transfer from her employer to Singapore).
So in that case I would be coming on DP and would like to get the Job in Singapore.
About ourselves:
As we both are currently working in IT MNC (In banking Finance domain) firm in India and both having 10+ years of experience.
So we are in dilemma should we garb this opportunity or not as we heard getting job for dependent is quite difficult in Singapore.
As we both are working so it would be difficult for anyone of us to stay at home without any work.
Your input/suggestions are really important for us and we really appreciate it.
Thanks in Advance'

I won't address the current job-hiring climate for foreigners, others here are better able to. But I can suggest you have a look at this -> http://www.mom.gov.sg/passes-and-permit ... ligibility

On a DP, you have the possibility of gaining employment via this Letter of Consent. If you do a forum search [top right] on 'Letter of Consent', or 'LOC' you will find previous discussions on the topic, the pros and cons etc, which should assist you.
I imagine another avenue might be seeking employment in your own right via an Employment Pass. Again there are pros and cons, which should be revealed via the above searches.

Good luck, let us know how it goes, and welcome to the forum!

And this was your post I replied to, before you '''thoughtfully''' deleted it...
