I am from India and my EP application is in 7th week pending status.

Employer told few applications are even crossing 9 weeks for approval.

Let us post updates we are getting from employer or media so for others it may be helpful

Thanks

HOW IS IT HELPFUL? What happens to other applications, or the amount of time they take to process, HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR APPLICATION, OR THE AMOUNT OF TIME IT TAKES TO PROCESS.

Are you assuming correlation? That if someone else's application takes X weeks, yours should as well? Wrong! They are unrelated events. There is nothing to correlate. Therefore, someone else's wait time is useless information.

Are you assuming causation? That if someone else's application gets approved or disapproved, it means that it will cause the same thing to happen to your application? Wrong? They are unrelated. The outcome of another application can make no difference to your outcome. Therefore, someone else's wait time is useless information.

If this is an example of your logic and reasoning, please, never apply to my company.

Strong eagle : Chill sir , noted. My intention is to know general time frame for applications . It's neither to correlate Nor causuate with other applicants.

Codejamster: yeah bro , let's keep fingers crossed.

What difference does it make? The general time could be 3 days and yours could be 3 months. Or, the other way around. It's just stupid.

One thing is for sure SE, Foreign Talent ('cuse me, foreign talent) today? I don't blame the locals for being pissed off. Singapore sure as hell doesn't need any more logic like this. They don't have much either, so the last thing they was MOM to do is let more deficient foreigner into the country to compete for the same jobs. I can't say as I blame them if what we see on the forum nowadays is indicative of the rest of them. #-o

I'm beginning to think that MoM is purposely piling EP apps in a box, hoping that everyone will just go away.

I sincerely believe most of the guys here are complaining for no reason. Just because something used to get approved earlier within a week or two, doesn't mean will continue forever. Immigration laws are getting tougher everywhere and understandably so. A nation would want to protect its borders from fraudsters. As someone rightly put here that 'it's all because of your fellow countrymen who used all sorts of trickery to get into the system, produced fake information, forged educational documents'. They should do a complete check on the candidate and I fully support MOM on this. Haven't seen anyone crying foul play when they've to wait an year for US/UK/Oz visa, but when it comes to SG, let's play the bashing game!

Sanju:I hope it helps you to understand what is the issue and also other people on this forum like you. 1) Other countries have timelines defined. Example: US - have definite time line for submitting visa application, definite time for results and stamping. Any changes in process are clearly posted and all over news. 2) On other hand Singapore, Visa were getting approved in max 7 days time before April/May. There were very very few cases where it took longer and reason was given why it is taking time.
Now, most of the people as under pending status without any clear picture.
People waiting for EP from 2 to 3 months or more.. All of us have family which depends on our job. when you look for a job in other country, there are many things to be taken care for example: house, spouse job and kids school. if EP used to come in 7 days as written on site as well. how much a head you will plan may be a month or max two. People are serving notice in current company and some r evn job less because of this sudden change as thy r done with notice period and had put in papers because thy were giving joining date from other company.
There is no issue in waiting that long. but there should be a clear picture so that people can plan accordingly. No one leave job for H1B in april, people know it can take an year before they travel. For Singapore EP someone with one month notice will obviously put papers because they r given date when thy need to join next company. I will still pray for people like u tht u never hv go thru something like this for a better understanding.

The only difference is that the United States government discloses processing times for past applicants, by visa category. There is no assurance that an applicant today will experience the same or similar processing time as a past applicant. In fact, in many visa categories it's rather unlikely he/she would.
