I believe we should wait as SMS mentioned earlier, As long as our credentials are correct, we dont need to worry i guess, one MOM is more thorough in getting credentials checked like experience and degrees ,

vizith,

The article, sadly, only goes to show you that what I and others here have been telling you guys for quite some time is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. You own countrymen screwed you. Sadly, worldwide, people from the subcontinent are known for their shady methods and trying to a) milk the system; and b) collect PRs. You saw the numbers in the article. It got real bad in the financial institutions as eventually somebody from the subcon would make it into an HR Sr. role and then all that would get hired were other Indians. The qualifications often were substandard and eventually a culling was in order. The kickback program was/is notorious here and they are catching more an more as time goes on. The pogrom has been going on now for about 3 years and doesn't show any signed of letting up. So, if it's 4 weeks or 12 weeks, as long as you are not rejected, don't worry, but at the same time your chances are less that most any other ethnic group because of your countrymen who came before you and constantly abused the system. Sorry, but documented facts are documented facts.

mine applied on same day and still wating , Number 1 MOM is verifying all education and exp dtls thoroughly and other one is EPs for most big IT consulting MNCs are not approved since APRIL :( and for some consultants EP approval taking more than a month it all depends case to case but for most this is the scene, so minimum wait period is 1 month and maximum we dont know :( so all we can do is wait and wish for the best.

Mine was applied on 10 June n it is still pending.. Has anyone received approval or tried calling mom? One of my frnds ep was applied on 12 May and he received approval in 3 days.. Not sure if things have changed after that.. Does it matter which agency/company applied your ep?

The people who have applied for EP on June, does any one got EP? I am first time applying for EP from India, I can see FIN number generated. Is it same for every one FIN generated or not ? After FIN generated how much time it will take to get EP ? what is the relationship between FIN and EP ?

Two replies:

1) About FIN and EP : this was answered a few times :) You may do some search here ..

2) In any case, since I have a strong belief that you want answers NOW, than your doing your search .. EP Applications get a FIN # assigned, once they have been reviewed. Unlike in the past, now I understand FIN # can be seen by the applying company. However, a FIN # - which is a reference number, means nothing until an IPA is issued.

Time between FIN # and approval ? Well, FIN # doesn't mean approval. It leads to IPA - In Principle Approval - or rejection. Note that until you get the IPA, come and do the formalities, you have no EP, so to say.

Should you get an IPA, then the FIN # becomes your identification number in Singapore, until you leave, or get PR. Even if you leave and come back a few years later, they will issue the same FIN # to you. (yes, I know, I am in a bit of good mood today .. )
