Re: EP Processing Time
Two jobs in less than two years? Probably didn't even work out your first EP which was probably for 24 months. The MNC will know what you are already capable of and while they will hire you, you will probably be one of the first to go during a slowdown as they already know you are not a stayer. I've been an HR manager for a long, long time here as I've seen it happen time and time again. You might be an exception. But you will have to do the convincing. Good luck with your new job. Glad it was approved, but hope you take something home from this.

Likewise one of my neighbourhood are , supposedly reputed - business too is importing EP holders paying 1500 a month.
MOM wants more evidence to act, despite one employee giving sworn statement. Seems they are overloaded investigating such cases. .
Re: EP Processing Time
Only if the MNC is an Indian bodyshopper. A Singapore based MNC or an International one that has a fair ratio of locals v/s expats doesnt have this problem. In my bank, we have outsourced lots of work to an Indian bodyshopper. Most of the work is done in India, but sometimes we need couple of them to come to Singapore on EP. Now these EPs have been pending for more than 6 months. Now the bodyshopper has also realized it that they cant get unlimited EPs. They get only limited ones, so they are very careful on how many people they apply for at any given time.AA2017 wrote:Hi... Interesting to read numerous cases of delay in EP approval/renewal. My first EP approval in Dec 2015 took only 4 days with a job in a startup company dealing in IT for F&B players. Recently landed up with a new job in MNC and the company's EP application has been pending since 12th Jan. Going to be 2 months in few days and still nothing in sight. Also since I quit the previous job with the hope of getting the approval faster than expected, now staying on visit pass and will be returning to home country soon. Taking solace from the fact that I am not the only one in this situation and 2+ months for EP approval is now the usual norm..
Till then fingers crossed and hoping for the best..

Re: EP Processing Time
I always had offer chance to work in singapore as i have huge colleagues circle in singapore and highly Cross skilled profile Skill sets, but didn't show much interest earlier.
Anyways as the things getting changed, in April end 2017 i have accepted an offer now with 7.5k $ per month looking forward to step into singapore hoping that the EP pass filed by company will approved within just 3 weeks. I have accepted the offer although i know 7.5k m$ is just an average salary for my skill set as being primary goal is to step in now and can surge later.
My company filed EP on 24- Apr - 2017, and EP status is still pending. Meanwhile seems MoM has requested few documents from company and they have submitted it on May 30th. Still the process is under way.
I couldn't see any issues with my profile and qualified for EP.
Experience - Almost 8 Years
Education - Masters in Computer sciences Full Time
Recently got some updates from MoM website that processing times are been extended to 8 weeks.
Do any one know if anyone's fresh EP got approved during May / June ?

If we say yes, how will that matter to your EP Application? And what if we say No?abhireddy001 wrote: Do any one know if anyone's fresh EP got approved during May / June ?![]()

Dear Singaporeflyer,
I have seen in few forums that even now few of them stated it took only 3 weeks for them during past two months , as MoM says its 8 weeks since April 2017, i am wondering if that's real or they are pointing to Renewal of existing EPass.
If its "Yes" I will be suspecting something wrong with my EP as per above case
If its "No" then probably, i need to relax hoping it does take time

As its an ASAP position, my employer was discussing if its taking time later this week, we shall cancel the EP and apply with a new Vendor.
So Worried

Re: EP Processing Time
There are cases where fresh EP's have been approved after a 6 months wait and also cases where they are rejected after 2-3 months too.abhireddy001 wrote:singaporeflyer wrote:If we say yes, how will that matter to your EP Application? So, what we are saying here is no two applications are the same and you cant predict. The only thing that you can do is to wait for the outcome of the application.
Do you think that MOM won't be aware, if your employer cancels the EP application and applies via a new consultant?
Re: EP Processing Time
It totally depends on who the employer is. If DBS wants to hire a permanent employee, the EP will get approved in 2 days. If TCS wants to apply for EP to be contracted to DBS, the EP could take forever even 6 months and not approved. So it depends on who your employer is.

Re: EP Processing Time
Its like vendor does matter, somehow my employer suspects on current vendor's profile, as they stated in the same case through other vendor it just took 3 weeks in March 2017singaporeflyer wrote:There are cases where fresh EP's have been approved after a 6 months wait and also cases where they are rejected after 2-3 months too.abhireddy001 wrote:singaporeflyer wrote:

Re: EP Processing Time
I am offered $5k/mo and I have 3.5 years of experience.
The status is now pending from vetting agencies.
I studied in Singapore years back (bachelor's degree) for 2 years. Also the HR mentioned that they have indeed posted the job ad on the Singapore jobbanks - and I saw the job post too - though I can't see it now, perhaps it's expired?
I tried using the SAT tool and when I tried 4.8k salary, the tool said that I am eligible for both Epass and Spass.
What do you think the chances of getting approval for such case?
Any comments
