There is a reason why MOM says to apply for renewals 3 months before expiry of your EP.

And 15+ years ago, it used to take up to 3 months or more for EP approval. Any prudent HR should know to apply 3 months ahead, at least !!

Applied spass: 9 Dec
MOM request for letter of consent: 14 Dec
It says: processing time is about 7 working days after we receive the documents requested. It may take longer should the application require the inputs of external agencies
I am previously a spass holder
Until today: status: pending
Reading from all the comment got me really scared now. Haii
Merry xmas, dear MOM.

just because your current pass is expiring soon, MOM won't speed up approval (or rejection

)
just clarifying

I am in a similar situation with my Dependant Pass renewal. Have never had trouble getting my DP renewed in all my 8 years of living in Singapore. My husband's workplace applied for renewal of all our passes in mid November and his EP and my son's DP got renewed for 3 years the next day (a first because its always been 2 years renewal period until now) but mine showed pending due to external vetting (the agency said MOM does random checks) and is still pending (its been 5 weeks now). My LOC which is connected to my DP is also due for renewal on the same day (4th of January). The agents with my husband's workplace said they will apply for an extension if the DP does not get renewed in time (within Jan 4th). My workplace informed me that they tried renewing my LOC but could not because it says another application with the same FIN is in process. What are my options now? Is it true that I will get an extension to continue until I get a result from MOM regarding my DP? I understand my LOC will be cancelled if I dont get my DP renewed in time but do I have to leave Singapore as well? My child starts school on the 3rd Jan and I cannot imagine not being here. Appreciate helpful advice on the matter.

Just an update if it could be of use to someone in similar situation (DP renewal pending). My DP status is still pending ( been over 2 months now). I got an extension for a month meanwhile. We contacted MOM and they got back to us later in the day saying it's pending since they're yet to get info from vetting agencies about my educational qualifications. They said they will extend my stay again if the vetting agencies take longer. The MOM personnel was very helpful throughout our enquiry.

Dear All
Good Day.
Can anybody advise me about 'approved Spass validity', please?
The story is -
1st company applied for Spass for me in last week of Dec 2016, and it was approved in 1st week of Jan 2017.
I requested them to withdraw the approved pass (because I'd like to accept the 2nd company offer.) But 1st company hasn't withdrawn it yet.
My questions are -
1) Will that approved pass be expired after 60 days automatically? or will it take 2 years to be expired automatically?
2) Can 1st company get card issued without my consent?
Looking forward to your answers.
