Re: Approved Spass Validity

Good Day.

Can anybody advise me about 'approved Spass validity', please?

The story is -

1st company applied for Spass for me in last week of Dec 2016, and it was approved in 1st week of Jan 2017.

I requested them to withdraw the approved pass (because I'd like to accept the 2nd company offer.) But 1st company hasn't withdrawn it yet.

My questions are -

1) Will that approved pass be expired after 60 days automatically? or will it take 2 years to be expired automatically?
2) Can 1st company get card issued without my consent?

Looking forward to your answers.
Validity of the IPA would be close to 6 months before. It will surely be mentioned in the IPA.

Once the IPA is approved, the company can request for the card to be issued.

You can ask them for the IPA. Are you aware that,in the current situation, there is no guarantee that you will get the Pass if the 2nd company submits a new application.?

Dear Singaporeflyer,

1st company intentionally didn't withdraw the pass.
I requested them so many times via emails, phone calls and in person.
They didn't reply me at all.
So, they won't send me IPA letter.

This morning, 2nd company tried to apply EP for me, but it's unable to submit as the 1st one is aleady approved.

Therefore, I'd like to know the validity of approved Spass.
some of my friends said it may last 6 months.
:'(

Thank you for your reply, Singaporeflyer.

IPA used to be valid for 90 days.

If your previous employer refuses to cancel your pass, send an official resignation letter. And take a copy of it and go to MOM.

Explain to the officer at MOM.

Are you being paid by your previous employer ?

Hi... Interesting to read numerous cases of delay in EP approval/renewal. My first EP approval in Dec 2015 took only 4 days with a job in a startup company dealing in IT for F&B players. Recently landed up with a new job in MNC and the company's EP application has been pending since 12th Jan. Going to be 2 months in few days and still nothing in sight. Also since I quit the previous job with the hope of getting the approval faster than expected, now staying on visit pass and will be returning to home country soon. Taking solace from the fact that I am not the only one in this situation and 2+ months for EP approval is now the usual norm..
Till then fingers crossed and hoping for the best..
