Applied for LTVP was told to come to ICA now have to wait 3-4 months?

Post by Pilkington » Mon, 30 May 2016 10:40 am

Hi All,

Been working in Singapore (Originally from Netherlands) on an s-pass for almost 3 years, got married earlier this year to my long-term partner of 7 years (Singaporean). Recently decided to apply for LTVP just to have some more security as we're doing family planning.

I applied for LTVP in the first week of April and got the email from ICA last week.

We are pleased to consider your application for Visit Pass (long term). Please call in person at Visitor Services Centre with the required documents or your application will be treated as withdrawn. Please click here to print a copy of the notice stating the list of required documents.

We printed all our documents and went to the office, then were told the application may take another 3-4 months.

Is this normally how this works? to my understanding the application process would take max of 6 weeks. It was at 'receiving attention' for 8 weeks.

Thanks!

That sounds fun, but I assume you mean you're planning to have a (larger) family. English is a very strange language sometimes.

Unless you and your wife obtained a positive Pre-Marriage Long-Term Visit Pass Assessment, yes, that's how it works.
