Report someone who committed Resume Fraud
Hi,
I do not know if this question belongs here however if it does not, please move this to the appropriate board.
I would like to inquire as to what are the consequences of providing false information in your Job Application and Workpass Application form? The fraud is something to do with the years of relevant experience.
Also, how can a concern person report this cases of resume fraud?
Hope someone can enlighten me. Thanks much.

Re: Report someone who committed Resume Fraud
The Ministry of Manpower accepts reports involving foreign workers.
Re: Report someone who committed Resume Fraud
I've reported similar things to my own HR department when the fraud has been inside the company I work for.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

Re: Report someone who committed Resume Fraud
Hey guys thanks for the replies. I am happy that someone replied to my post because I really wanted to stop this person in enjoying the blessings of being an expat in SG. There are a lot of foreigners out there with honest credentials who are dying to have a job in SG and then there are these fraudsters who gets their asses in (sorry for the term).
I have reported this incident to MOM and I just want to know what is the gravity of this offence? Is this a terminable offence? The thing is we don't work for the same company, I sent an email to their HR regarding this however I did not receive any reply from them.
Any advice are welcome
Thanks much guys and have a happy weekend.

You almost sound like a peckerheaded local oppie. But surely you're not.

Re: Report someone who committed Resume Fraud
This morning a friend in SG was posting a story re: a guy who parked in a handicapped bay at a SGn mall. Another citizen pursued him through the mall and tried to establish whether he indeed had a right to park there. Then when not perfectly satisfied to her liking she posted up pix of him, his car w/number plate and so on for the world to see on FB. Summary justice by the citizenry. I didn't make the comparison for him in reply that it reminded me of self-appointed informer networks in Nazi Germany and Cuba, not least because he thought this supposed outing of the driver was great!
I see parallels in the above story here. Just because the OP isn't personally satisfied with this other persons credentials she wishes to see him punished. That would ignore the fact that when he said to her he hadn't xyz qual or credential he could have simply been joking, or exaggerating, or intentionally trying to pi$$ her off. She appears not to have considered any of that, such is her prosecutorial zeal, and has already judged him a 'fraudster'... it's amazing to me and also sad.

Re: Report someone who committed Resume Fraud
I don't think we can or should draw any conclusions. There may or may not be an actual infringement, and if it exists the infringement may or may not be serious. For example, would you want a surgeon operating on you who lied on his resume? The Ministry of Manpower can investigate to the degree it wishes and apply whatever lawful sanctions are merited, if any.
Re: Report someone who committed Resume Fraud
Your mileage may vary.... IMO this type of fraud is pretty minor; not the same as say forging a degree from Harvard. In my case I, which was VERY similar, I was told HR would take a note. Who knows what that means but the useless turd is still here and still pretending to have experience which I know is not factual. Fortunately he's in sales and not brain surgery.zerotolerancefraud wrote:Hey guys thanks for the replies. Re: Report someone who committed Resume Fraud
An obvious question would seem to be why does the OP have such a bug up her **** about this? She's already reported her suspicion to both HR and MoM, but apparently that's not sufficient punishment by her.
