Hi
Any malaysians here who have successfully applied and got their citizenship approved/rejected? Wanted to know what your waiting time is like and also your profile.
Both my husband and myself (Malaysian) have been SPR since 2009/2010 and a kid. I plan to apply PR with my kid only. We both work in the finance industry.
Wanted to hear what how others have fared so far.

Probably will be rejected because they can smell a red herring a long way off. If whole family doesn't apply together, you are looking for the kiss of death, Malaysian or not.

I'll just say good luck. I'm assuming you are Chinese M'sians, yeah? The rules don't seem to apply then. One wonders why.

Hi Synkronize,
Do you know how long the processing time for your Malaysian friend to get approval?

Why did you erase your post, tanpw? One question I was going to ask is why/how you applied for citizenship in May, 2014, when you only obtained PR status in January, 2013? My understanding is that ICA requires a minimum two year waiting period.
Anyway, please keep us posted on your application's outcome. It's now July, 2016 (as I write this), so you've been waiting over two years. Perhaps ICA accepted the application (in error?) and then added the waiting period.

Hi BBCWatcher,
I was accidently edited my post. Sorry about that. It's my first post in this forum.
Yes, you are right. ICA requires a minimum 2 years with PR status. My citizenship application was submitted in May'15, instead of 2014. Typo error in my previous post. My waiting time is about 1 year 2 months.
I'll update my outcome once I received my letter.

Hi,
Just an update. I've received IPA letter from ICA yesterday. Waiting period is exactly 14 months.

Why? are you a carbon copy? and your family/siblings/education/and experience? Useless knowledge that will only give somebody false hope.
