They are civil servants for doG's sake. Do civil servants in you country work on weekends and public holidays?

Thanks sundaymorningstaple and ecureilx. Yes, I know. Just wanted to know from the experts whether there's such thing that I didn't aware of.

You can send the MoM an e-mail and/or use most of the electronic applications, such as EP Online, during non-working hours. They'll sit in queue until a MoM employee (or designee) starts his/her work day.

Re: S-pass application: no record found
Samgeh123 asked about working with the MoM during Sundays and public holidays. Maybe we could try to be maximally helpful to those asking for help -- and say "thank you" when responders are earnestly trying to help instead of insulting them? It just might make this forum a more popular, more attractive place.
I would add that a few Singapore Post branches are open on Sundays, and a few interactions with the Ministry of Manpower can take place via SingPost. That's another, limited, off hours option.

Frankly, if a person is smart enough to find this site, he's smart enough to know that email will remain in a queue till the next working day.
They are still NOT OPEN on the weekends. You didn't help the poster at all, you are just feeding your insatiable ego.

How about we let Samgeh123 make that judgment?sundaymorningstaple wrote:You didn't help the poster at all, you are just feeding your insatiable ego.
I bend over backwards to be polite to fellow posters. I wish that comity were reciprocated.
Re: S-pass application: no record found
Hi guys....Thanks for the information BBCWatcher. I asked this question as one person is struggling with S Pass application given that HR is providing little info saying one time that "HR is consulting/contacting MOM on a Sunday". Doubtful right? So when you worrying about something really matters to some people (specially jobs); they will try to find some information to clarify their doubts when receiving doubtful, uncertain info which can't question back. I thought to ask this question here to clarify (as a help to that person) from you all whether there's such thing as I was not aware of such thing. Not that I'm "pedant" or such.

Memo to BBCW: If one person calls you an ass, you can probably forget about it. If 10 people call you an ass, you might ought to think about buying yourself a saddle.

You can consult MOM staff on weekends if you know them outside work, but ...samgeh123 wrote:I asked this question as one person is struggling with S Pass application given that HR is providing little info saying one time that "HR is consulting/contacting MOM on a Sunday". a) they can't discuss your specific issue
And
b) they are not allowed to look up others records.
And
c) if your application is under their care, they can't discuss anything outside their office!
So it will be just a social chat

As for HR saying they are consulting MOM on Sunday - no comments... maybe they do visit Singpost on weekends or check their emails on Sundays to respond to queries

HR checking with MOM on a Saturday or Sunday means nothing more than logging into EPOL/WPOL. That is interacting with the MOM on the weekends, full stop.
