doesnt work your way anymore I guess.
There's an option for me to select whether I also would like to apply for an SVP extension as well as LTVP and i selected it.
So now it stats after I made payment for extension that svp extension approved and that duration of pass on same conditions extended to mid June and LTVP is still receiving attention.

Still no updates, did give them a call to check if she could go back to collect her documents after we receive IPA before the appointment date. They said yes to that.
They also said there is no need for her to furnish a return ticket, she can simply show the IPA.

Hi all,
It has been more than 6 weeks. No response from Ica yet. Quite concerned
also, I did an official translation of her educational documents, the photocopied ones.
I am quite worried as the official translation termed her ballet certs as "professional certificates" but I had it down as "professional diploma". It's the whole mandarin translation thing and my Chinese being not fantastic. I did not get it right.. Is it a huge cause of concern?
Or do I get another translator to term it according to how I filled up her forms?

Her SVP was previously valid till 22nd May, ICA just emailed to make payment for extension till 22nd June. LTVP still receiving attention, FIN number now reflected.
Does this make the application slightly more optimistic?
It used to be that when you applied for an LTVP, then ICA automatically granted an SVP extension. The duration of that auto-extension was per what they thought required/appropriate for your application to be considered, you advised of the outcome, and if successful for you to complete formalities ie issuance. You used to only separately have to apply for another additional SVP extension, i.e. beyond ICAs original auto-extension, if you were physically unable to book an appointment for issuance in time. [This happened to me once].
Once the LTVP application was lodged, additional required SVP extensions were granted free by ICA until they'd reached a decision and you could attend to complete formalities.
So it's not clear how you applied for the LTVP, *and* an SVP extension (and paid for it), when the latter used to be both auto-issued and free of charge.
[My experience of this was a few years ago, so it is possible things have changed. Either way it is not clear to me how you seem to running both an SVP and LTVP status almost independent of each other...]
As I recall having a FIN number assigned just means the application is in their system, i.e. the application itself is valid, it doesn't reflect upon the outcome.
The parts captioned in bold above is of particular interest in my case, because I have lodged an application for LTVP with LLE assessment but the "auto SVP" was rejected when I last checked the updated status. There was no reason given so all the more frustrating.

I really don't know this new term "auto SVP" ...
As of now, a pending application doesn't entitle you to anything, and even after approval, you need to obtain the SVP separately. And it will all be considered based on individual merit.

So it must have changed. You used to apply for the LTVP and when you'd filed that they issued a receipt which also acted as an extension to your SVP. So the document told you to carry that page in your passport if you were travelling out/into SG, as that was your temporarily extended SVP.
It's why when I filed for an LTVP, I waited until my SVP had almost expired. As on filing I'd get a long enough extension to see the LTVP application through; without having to border-run, or go down to ICA to apply for an extension.

Still receiving attention and it is already 7 weeks...
I wonder why... I made calls to ICA and sent the visit pass office an email.
They simply told me some cases take more time than others..

Finally got the IPA in my mailbox yesterday. Had sent an email to the generic visit pass mailbox 3 days ago stating my surprise over the extended wait time and mentioning that I require my spouse's LTVP urgently as she could not even study english in a full time course without a LTVP.
