Whether you're legally obligated or not, I'd pay it. It's just not worth the hassle when M1 adds a late payment fee, and you have to call M1 (i.e. talk to somebody in Manila) to get the bill cleaned up. Which won't happen the first time, then you get another late fee....
AXS works, and as I recall you can pay 4 cents with a credit or debit card via M1's Web site directly.

Definitely payable electronically (RATM already mentioned where). Not cash.

pay them 6cents and then ask them to return the 2 cents back.
call up the call center and argue with them needlessly over it.

I wouldn't pay it. I'd send them three or four letters asking them why they are spending 35 cents to collect 4 cents... they have idiots for programmers... or perhaps managers that think they need the .04 to balance the books.martincymru wrote:received final bill from M1 for 0.04 sgd ( 4 cents). Once they've spent a couple of dollars in postage, I'd drop down to a payment center and put a 5 cent piece on the counter. Ask for change. They won't have it. The only place I know to get pennies in Singapore is Singpost... tell M1 you need to delay payment to go get some pennies from Singpost.
Re: Invoice 0.04 SGD - Have to pay?
I have some insurance plans with AIA where the monthly premiums are paid in USD, and if I pay them say, 20 cents too much (because for example currency fluctuations) they send me back a cheque for that amount.

thanks all for the comments.
But what if I have no means to pay electronically and Singpost stop issuing cents.
If I pay 5 cents then I have overpaid thus I pay zero? That's the point I am making.

Yes - in cash you legally round up from 4c to 5c.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

You know what, as much of a complete faff as it seems, knowing what SGn companies are like I would pay it. Better to get that a/c settled and closed than having any doubts left hanging into the future...

For over 4 freaking cents?JR8 wrote:Yah 4c = 4-stroke ah! [Apols MC]

But yeah, frankly, I'd pay myself too. Singapore made it way too easy for electronic payment - you'd be mad to come up with excuse that there's too much work to pay 4 cents in Singapore.
