Pretty sure you misread my post. But you're right in that ICA should reject those lowly-educated and undesirable candidates promptly, especially those who can't even read properly.sundaymorningstaple wrote:I'm surprised it took them 9 months to reject you. After all, first thing they saw was the fact that you didn't even wait the minimum 6 months before applying. I reckon they don't need FT who are not any brighter than the average local. They sure don't need any more who cannot follow simple instructions.PermanentRisk wrote:My PR was approved somewhere between March and April 2016 since I only check my status once a week. It took ~9 months.
Malaysian Chinese, male, mid 20s, graduated from local poly. Holding S Pass and applied for PR less than 5 months at my first job.
Due to my scant job experience, I focused on my academic achievements instead, but I can't say for sure how it has helped, for ICA's criteria is always enigmatic.
Or, better yet, promptly deport those lowly-educated and undesirable PRs who can't even read properly.PermanentRisk wrote:Pretty sure you misread my post. I don't believe that attempting to win friends in ICA is a good or even mediocre reason to marry. Love is a much better reason in my view. Perhaps that makes me a hopeless romantic, although I'm in good company.ecureilx wrote:And in turn staying Single ? Yep, that's gonna win lot friends in ICA and conservative Singapore and Asia ...
Tis true. I had just sat down to eat after having one of those days at the office (23 threads I'd not looked at all day). Speed reading and completely blew it. At least it was caught. That's why we have to keep each other in line. Seriously, somebody figure out how I can fulfill my obligations here on the little red dot and I'm ready go home. I think.BBCWatcher wrote:Or, better yet, promptly deport those lowly-educated and undesirable PRs who can't even read properly.PermanentRisk wrote:Pretty sure you misread my post. (We kid, SMS. We kid.)
Congratulations, PermanentRisk. Doubly.
Thank you and congrats to your Pr!PermanentRisk wrote:At my work I've come across several Vietnamese acquaintances, some of them successfully got their PR, some, like you, are not so lucky.wishingyouahappyday wrote:Hi,
I have just received my Rejection Letter this morning from ICA after 5 months waiting.
Just sharing:
1- S Pass/ SGD 46k per a.n
2- Applied @ Nov 2015/ 3rd application
3- Vietnamese Chinese/Single
4- Singapore since 2008
5: Education: Advanced Dip from Raffles Education, Degree from SIM Uni and 6 months short course from Harvard, US.
But those who got their PR are all graduates of well-known universities (NTU and NUS). Oh, they studied engineering and, invariably, speak much better English from my observation.
Anyway, it's admirable that you've gone to such great length to get a hold of the PR status. I wish you all the best!
At least we agree on something. However, I'm not sure I'm a hopeless romantic, or just a glutton for punishment.BBCWatcher wrote:I don't believe that attempting to win friends in ICA is a good or even mediocre reason to marry. I suspect we agree on a great many things, maybe even most things.sundaymorningstaple wrote:At least we agree on something.
This is EP application?rasta wrote:Hello!
I am new to the forum, as I will be relocating to Singapore and just getting my head around what needs to be done. Just wanted to give some feedback on this for others who are waiting on their EP.
1- EP / SGD 15000
2- Applied 9 Apr
3- Mixed race, dual nationality/family 2 children under 4
4- 1st Application/Australia
5- Status = Approved (11 Apr)
And 2 day for approval ? Confused I am, severely:sundaymorningstaple wrote:I'm pretty sure the poster meant PR as the first line indicated his pass and salary level.
