The easiest way would be to forward the email with the attachment to his own mail address and receive it back on the ipad, both under wifi.

I was thinking more of when the ipad is outside wifi range and an email comes in but yeah, that works as well.

I used this option to keep my phone unlocked in a trusted place which is my home..the function worked for day 1 and thereafter, it doesn't stay...
