hi,
upon marriage, can I bring my wife here with tourist visa and upon arriving here I can get her DP ( as I am employed here ) ..
reason I am asking is - I do not have that much time that I can get marriage certificate and later based on that I can apply for DP and later get IPA for her to enter Singapore... so planning to bring her right after marriage with tourist visa..

Unless you are from a couple of Asian countries that prevent people going overseas, you should have no issue getting her here on Social Visa.
Don't your country give a copy of marriage certificate on the spot ?

I can bet he is Indian. In India, its not straightforward to get the marriage certificate. You need to prepare some documentation and it can get complicated, if the address on your document is different from the city/town you got married. I know this because my brother in law got married in Karnataka and he has no address proof there, although he lived there most of his life. He got his passport when he was in Chennai. Although, I am sure, with right the contacts and few 1000s of rupees he can get the certificate easily. They just make you run around a bit, so that you give up and take the easy route. That is India for you

Forget temple marriage, but is there no requirement for a registration at the civil registry and such ?
If so, what stops them from giving a copy ?
Anyway, incredible India. I am sure the old rule of 'marriage in temple / tying the yellow string' is still legal and enforceable.

Temple marriage is the official marriage. Majority of the people don't even bother to go and register it and it is not a requirement. It's only when you need a marriage proof document, people go and register it. Marriage proof document is more often than not, only needed for visas. People who don't need to go abroad don't even bother.

Ah, so those who left Mother land do it differently

Temple Marriage + Registration, and Registration can be earlier or after the Temple wedding.
