Need advice about relocation and package

Post by Lunatico » Thu, 24 Mar 2016 11:46 pm

Me and my husband currently working in Qatar. I'm quite good UI/UX designer with around 4 years of experiense.
I was offered the position in Singapore with salary S$5000 without any other allowance (only insurance). We want to move to Singapore, but not sure if it will be enough for normal life. 1st thing - we don't want to leave in shared apartment and want to have at least normal studio or 1 bedroom.
Is it good salary for such kind of job in SG? Will it be enough for normal life (without any savings) until my husban will get a job (we don't need to go to restaurant 3 times per week, but don't want to check prices every time.
With our salaries in Qatar we can save around $2k per month and travel every 2 month.

Please advice if it has sence.

In my view it's not enough to maintain that savings rate and with the lifestyle expectations you described. The government agrees, which is why S$5000/month in fixed monthly salary is the bare minimum before they might approve a Dependant's Pass for a trailing spouse.
