PROBATION ENDED - WHAT TO DO?

Post by martincymru » Tue, 15 Mar 2016 1:15 pm

My work probation ends Mar 17th 2016.

I have 12 month contract, ends Dec 18th 2016.

Come Mar 18th, what do I do?

HR have ignored my reminder to them.

What is supposed to happen at the end of your probation?

usually if there is no intimation regarding probabtion, it usually implies you aren't on probation anymore. usually this makes sense if you are employed full time rather on contract.
To get there early is on time and showing up on time is late

Exactly; where I work I get an email reminder that basically says "Your Subordinate SMS's probation is coming up; if you want to replace him with RAJATM please inform HR, no other action is necessary". I normally just delete and ignore,

You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

@MC. Usually I'd expect a probationary period to give the employer simpler rights to terminate you, if they decide 'you don't fit'. I'd expect the contract to spell that out. But if they don't exercise any such rights then unless the contact has some express provision otherwise, then you move to a status of non-probationary contract.
