I was amused this morning to see a reference to the early 70s 'Monkey Bike' by Honda. They're a thing I saw now and again in my youth. Perhaps they're so named as they're tiny and it's probably the kind of thing a chimp might ride in a circus act.
I was having an amused wave of nostalgia watching the vid [1m25s], then it has the strangest ending. For no obvious reason at all in the closing shot a bottle of beer comes into the frame: Augustiner Helles-Brau... the same one I was suggesting WD40 try and find in Amsterdam a couple of weeks back

Random thought: Is there an EU equivalent of 'The American Dream'?
Yes, to not have another war.

As a 13 year old boy, I absolutely lusted at the neighbor's Honda Dream 305... I ended up with an old Lambretta motor scooter that wouldn't start unless you pushed it downhill.

Those are the lyrics to a Swedish death metal band's hidden track.

Ya gotta admit... the non live participant isn't going to be complaining very much... if at all.
Then again, I suppose someone is going to bring up the issue of "consent" and "consensual".

earthfriendly wrote:Hey guys, it is a 43 minute documentary about the incident. With forensic science thrown in. Garnering 3.9 million views on Youtube. Probably produced by a major TV network. One of those investigative show (series???). The title is "Singapore Airlines Flight 006 - Caution to the Wind".
Pilot assumed traffic control would notify him if he was on the wrong runway but the former could only see up to 600km due to poor visibility attributed to the weather. And the traffic control assumed pilot knew his way. So one of the fixes post-incident is that traffic control will remind in closer contact with pilot during poor weather condition.
It was not addressed on the show, but was the unusable runway lit? Shouldn't the lights be turned off to prevent pilots from using it? I can't imagine pilot taxi-ing down an unlit runway.
i saw related videos of that documentary. the paint job they did on that plane looks horrendous.
i also saw a visualization that lead to the accident, pretty damm horrific.
and the lights should have been turned off from the unused runway to prevent if from being used. that was a total dumb thing to not do.
