Unusually candid considering how touchy the subject is amongst some.

It seems to be a KL thing, as no one in SG calls me that...
It looks like you have never tried to communicate with ordinary Singaporeans via text messages. I was called this way dozens of times. When I enquired about a car listed on sgcarmart I was bro, 90% cases I buy from a local ebay seller, 100% from hardwarezone or craigslist, bro this bro that, etc etc.

its somehow hard to envision you as a "bro"

I am actually pretty bro-ish under the right circumstances but regardless, you can imagine surprise these guys normally have at the end of the process. An Angmoh and on a motorbike, but actually I made some good contacts this way. I have one favorite seller, really trustworthy and reliable guy and he brought me once to his hdb flat in Sembawang. You should have seen his mother when she saw this new bro. Sometime I think I miss a lot because of the limitations of my own social circle. All this middle and high class in Singapore is often more pretentious and boring then some really simple, ordinary people. It's a strange world.

Sorry JR8, but the first thing that came to my mind was a beached beluga whale starting to decompose.

I like this part:
Tay’s developers seemed to discover what was happening and began furiously deleting the racist tweets. They also appeared to shut down her learning capabilities and she quickly became a feminist:
