Apply for Singapore Citizenship

Post by yiming » Sun, 06 Mar 2016 3:37 pm

Profile:
1. Malaysian & 30yo
2. Work in sg since 2009 (7years)
3. Got my PR since 2012 (3 & 1/2 years)
4. Single

Hi Guys,

Need some advices on National Service (NS) if I convert to Singapore Citizenship.

I understand that First Generation applicant for PR is exempted from NS, however there is no clear information in regard to First Generation applicant for "converting" to Sg Citizenship will be exempted from NS.

So, if apply now, do I need to go for NS?

Image that's a given. Though as a Malaysian he won't face so much wrath ;)

Thanks for the information. Is that over certain age you will be waived from NS?

That's not a given, some people may be put through NS- but the circumstances are different.

I gave that answer based on a complicated algorithm I use to work out answers :D

To simplify the answer, do research here on past posts. Or maybe somebody may explain in detail, too detailed ...
