I kinda of like Flaked at the moment, and a lower-quality drama series about a Native American detective in a southwest US setting.

Both interesting to see the ways of life and surroundings, like other worlds.

surprised no one mentioned true detective yet!
To get there early is on time and showing up on time is late

Limitless is pretty fun while the stakes can get pretty high.

It's based on the 2011 film with Bradley Cooper but the tone is slightly different. The show's fun as hell (with the main protagonist's thoughts can be goofy as hell) but does not shy away putting the main characters in danger.

The 100 can also be pretty engaging (if you look past that practically all of the characters are good looking and 95% are in their 20's in spite of its post-apocalyptic setting). There's a very high body count though so plot armor is not a thing.

Just working through Occupied, a Norwegian political thriller with the Russians as the bad guys. Not bad. Subtitles.

Now this - this is the kind of thing I was looking for, not the
usual stuff.

As is The Man In The High Castle, good so far though it is pretty dark and I have less and less have space for dark stuff these days.

If Occupied interests you then Borgen is pretty good. Danish political drama - subtitles again.
