From what I have seen of late, the 30 day SVP issued upon cannot be extended and no visa runs will evoke any sympathy from the Officers, unless you are extremely lucky.
I know people who got refused entry on the first return - including one - she got the pass cancelled, got a 30 day SVP, went to Malaysia to Legoland after a week of cancellation, and upon return - refused entry - all pleading fell on deaf ears. And finally the person got a 7 day SVP in lieu. And no extension- and told to go back to her country before coming back again.
If you are special or have a special passport, you may have better luck.
you may still be asked to produce a confirmed return ticket for any extension.
