Hi Brah,

Nice to hear back from you. Things have become worse in Singapore.

Even EPs have become tough to get these days, especially if the employer is a body shopper. 2 months waiting is normal.

What a truly lazy piece of "journalism", a poor copy and paste job from the original data (https://www.internations.org/expat-insi ... /singapore) with the extended descriptions underneath not bothering to actually match the data displayed in the infographics. And given this is a publicly available report how exactly is this an exclusive for SBR? Or is that some weird singlish meaning of exclusive that I've not picked up on yet? However much the person who put that together is being paid it's about 100% too much.

It continues. At the SPE meeting last night at least 4 of the 20 attendees indicated plans to move out by the end of the year if not earlier.

Have a look at STI index. Compare it with rest of developed/Asian or Emerging market indices. You will get the picture.

Singapore seems to be the most affected from China slowdown/Brexit/fall in oil prices etc. Swiber default and it's impact on DBS. There could be more defaults looming in O&G space.

Actually, I have been following the STI, and for the life of me, I don't understand why it's still as high as 2.8k. It's been sitting in this range for yonks now. Very little is shaking it much.

I'm not vested either way, but with the current market the way it is, both in factual terms and as per perceived, it really should be a lot less sticky than it is.

I usually compare it with Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea. May be Malaysia too. All these markets have done better than Singapore.

Jakarta, Philippines and India have done even better. Singapore investors are stuck in comparison.
