Interesting. Congratulations.
You are the 2nd one we've had on the board in recent months that is directly opposite than the trend for the past couple of years. Maybe the tide is starting to turn since the GE after all.

Wonder if TS is under the tuition grant scheme previously ?
my understanding is that TG bond holders are required to look for job after graduation and work for at least certain amount of years to "repay" the government for the subsidies received during studies.
would this actually play part in the PR?

Re: My PR Approved
No. In fact, there was another poster here about a month ago who has not been able to find a job in almost the full three years of "bond" after she graduated. Not sure what she did, thoug.h
Re: My PR Approved
Congratulations mate! Sounds like a good fit for Singapore, locally educated, good cultural fit, young, and from a country that is economically on the ascendency relative to others that are just causing worldwide problems. Well done again.

The only reason I could think about is to improve the male to female ratio, but I don't have any statistic for the Indians alone. Singapore average, 25-64yo, is ~0.96. Congrats OP, hope you are not tolling.
Re: My PR Approved
Vow that's very interesting ... Wonder what's going on the officers mind given many better qualified and pay wise are still not able to secure their pr

They need a cross section to settle here. If everyone was highly qualified and high earning it wouldn't be good.

There may also be a bias once a person's income exceed a certain level in certain industries. In a couple of industries, they pretty much know that after you reach a certain level you will follow the money trail as that is the only compass those types use. Why give them PR when then can well afford to live high off the hog and then just split to the next country who offers them 50K shekels more.
Re: My PR Approved
Could be, and then perhaps lower-middle class in construction industry is on higher demand? Surely they must realise that building the society by absorbing only highly paid masters and phds is rather a bad idea. They engineered it so far exactly that way, but it is really a sick situation if people are only satisfied with the manager title on their business card. In a well balanced society people would be proud doing jobs like carpenter or welder, here they will grow their nails to show they don't do any more physical jobs.
