Change of Address during PR Application

Post by dynoto » Wed, 20 Jan 2016 12:19 am

Hi folks, just wanted to check if anybody have changed their address while their PR application is still pending?

I wasn't sure exactly whats the best date for me to inform ICA, current situation is that i'm moving away from my current address within a week but yet to find a room.

would they actually allow to change the address to office address instead ?

and also, what happens if the PR letter arrived in mailbox but accidentally disposed by someone else?

No issue changing address.

If you didn't get the approval letter, you can check online. Failure to submit whatever upon approval, within the 30 day will see your application considered withdrawn.

Plan B, sign up for Singpost letter forwarding service, if you are so confident that your old landlord will throw away your letter.

Hi ecureilx,

Thanks for the reply.

I recalled it used to be 60 days ? was reading from somewhere

Yeah probably i should, am renting entire unit and everybody is moving out ... so not sure whether the new tenant is going to dispose any incoming mails or not.

I can't remember if it was 30 day or 60 day.

But note the SingPost address forwarding service is like 99% accurate, it's not 100% accurate. But better than losing letters.

Just got updates from ICA regarding change of address
"We noted your change of address and will update our records accordingly. We will inform you by post once your PR application has been finalised."

Just curious whether this actually indicate a positive result? :o

Yes, it indicates a positive result of your efforts to notify ICA about your new address.

Different departments. Not good news at all. four stacks of folders on the desk, new applicants who manage to get past the self-help tool, 2nd stack pending for various reasons; 3rd stack Approved; and 4th stack rejected for various and sundry reasons. Change of address only affects those records in the 2nd stack, nothing more.
