Ineligible for Dependent Pass for New Born - Help

Post by MK55 » Tue, 19 Jan 2016 12:42 pm

Me and my wife have been married for 3 years now. My wife came to Singapore in 2010 and graduated with MS from NUS and has been working since 2012 holding an EP. I have been here for 2 years now working holding an S Pass. We are expecting a baby which is due in few months.

With the revised salary criteria (5000 SGD) for dependent pass, we are both ineligible individually to apply for dependent pass for our baby. Our combined salary well exceeds the limit. Could anyone highlight what are the options to have the baby with us here in Singapore? Anyone else who are facing this situation now please share your inputs.

Thanks

P.S. Our PR application has been rejected twice already

I am afraid I don't see any good solution for your situation. 5k is the lower limit form both DP and LTVP of the S/EP holders. I don't see any information on the MOM/ICA sites that a combined income will be considered. Your wife may need to quit the job and go back to her country of origin and wait till your or her (with a new job offer) salary reaches the said 5k or the child is old enough to get a student pass.
