Monkeys in the East

Post by bgd » Tue, 05 Jan 2016 5:08 pm

Two of them, on the park connector at the top of East Coast Park, by the canal.

In all my time here, I have never seen monkeys on the East Coast. They were tame so I guess used to people. Refugees from MacRitchie perhaps, or maybe displaced by the new runway?

Monkey are in Bishan/Ang Mo Kio Park and in Woodlands Coastal Park and in any interconnected stretch of forested land around Bukit Timah - Bukit Batok parks/reserves and in Labrador Park and in Mnt Faber IIRC. Actually it's surprising they are not (?) in East/West Coast Parks.

I saw some at the eastern end of East Coast Park a couple of years ago (maybe 5 or 6). Haven't spent much time out there in recent years though so don't know if they've been relocated or not.
