Learning to drive in SG

Post by Primrose Hill » Tue, 22 Dec 2015 8:27 am

So, the little one turns 17 in a couple of months. I know that to be a driver in SG, she has to be 18. Can she start to learn how to drive whilst she is 17?
If so, is there a recommended centre over others?

I think so. There are two centres from memory - Ubi and Tampines (?) and there are some older private instructors (which I recommend but there aren't many around - they are grandfathered into the system until they retire/die and no new ones are being licensed - the damn LTA).
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

It looks like she has to be 18 at the time of enrolment.

Some info that may be helpful to chose the centre.

Bukit Batok DC seems with the highest passing rate.

Bukit Batok Driving Centre is recommended :) Their instruction is systematic and structured.

You can either go by driving schools or private instructors. Private instructors tend to be cheaper per hour. And to add, nowadays the driving schools are fully booked and it is quite difficult to get lessons. That said, private instructors have no fixed lessons and they go according to how your child progresses through their teaching.

BTW, does NTU know you abuse their network to spam fora?
