What type of Visa/Pass for 'child' over 21 years old?

Post by l_cru » Tue, 15 Dec 2015 11:15 pm

Apologies if this has already been discussed previously...

Basically, with bleak job prospects currently where I live in the UK. I have given myself two options, go to Singapore to live with my father with the intention of securing work down the line or travel Asia.

My father currently works for an international company and works from their offices in Singapore - he lives there and has an Employment Pass sponsored through them.

My searches so far have lead me to believe that I do not meet criteria for a Dependants Pass due to being a child over 21. Furthermore a Long Term Visitors Pass (LTVP) only applies to those over 21 years of age that are handicapped.....Am I right in thinking that it is not possible to stay long term as a child of 24 years?!

If any one could confirm this or suggest alternatives it would be greatly appreciative, I understand I have only just started looking into Singapore as an option for myself and may have overlooked or not yet read up on the options.

Many thanks!

Everything has to be under your own steam now you are over 21.

What have you got to offer Singapore?

You can use your dads place for a base I guess , but its an expensive place to hang out!!
Life is short, paddle harder!!

I'd be looking to study or work (hard) here if you want to live with your parents.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!
