welcome archk

What I have seen so far... standard PR application processing(reject/approval) time for other than Malaysian/Indonesian Chinese is 1-2 yr, and longer waiting time does not mean anything .

Not sure if that information is helpful at all! Good luck.

If the aroma I'm smelling is correct, you may well have a problem. Can you please clarify a few things for me.....

a) you are applying for PR? What type of pass have you been on previously???

b) You say your father is a Singapore Citizen (Senior). Why are you not a Singapore Citizen? Where where you born? If you were born in India, why? I have to assume that you never did NS in Singapore either, correct?

I suspect you will never get PR here because you were left in India so that you wouldn't have to do NS even though your father is a Singapore Citizen. Therefore, the government knows this, and it will probably be a cold day in hell before they give you PR because they know your situation was brought about deliberately by your father.

If my analysis is incorrect, please answer a) & b) and let us see if we might be able to see a different reason. But my current feelings are based on the information as you have presented it.

I hate to sound so 'somber' but frankly, you have a big problem and might want to think about other countries. Of course, your rejections letter probably had the paragraph in them saying your PR has been rejected or some such BUT you are welcome to stay on your EP as long as it can be renewed.

Thank you for reply.

that time my father settled family in india. i born in India. my father have not applied PR for me that time. he did not know how to apply for that. and he is not well educated. he was working in catering side.
after finished my study i came here.
Dec 2007 - EP pass - Operation Assist - $2800.00
2009 - EP pass - Administrative Assist - $3100.00
2011 - EP pass - Administrative Assist - $3500.00
2013 - EP pass - Administrative Assist Manager - $4500.00
2014 - EP pass - Administrative Manager - $5400.00 (Current Job)

2009 i have applied first time PR. received the result within 3 month " you have not met the residential requirement. You may wish to re-submit another application for our consideration after 9 month".

that time i was bachelor. no tax filed. but positive reply.

after 4 time i applied with my family. simply the letter said " Your application has not been successful. you and your family can continue staying here....."

i hope the god bless me this time.

The last one is the one I was talking about. They are telling you that you will NOT get PR but are welcome to stay here on your EP as long as you can keep getting it renewed. This is going to make it rough as you will not be able to buy a resale HDB flat and you will always be susceptible to economic shifts and possibly having your EP renewal rejected. I'd make alternative plans if I were you. If you are bound to try again, Do so, but don't be surprised if the outcome is the same. They have a long memory when it come to NS dodgers (I know that wasn't your fault - but none the less, you father did know if he was a Singaporean citizen. How did he acquire his Singaporean citizenship? Was he born in Singapore?

...is why you can't have nice things.

I'm sorry, but as SMS said, Singapore thinks your father shafted them and have seen you as a way of "Oh no; we're not going through this thing again."

Unfortunately, this has been the case for a lot of Indians and Singapore. Yes, it is racist.

To be fair, in the 70s, post separation, many Indians were asked to sign on the dotted lines, to become Citizens.

And that includes labourers, hair dressers, gardeners and such.

A lot signed, a few didn't know what the future would have been or decided to be with the extended family, packed their bags and went back to India, and a few just sent their family to India, as they felt the family has more support from relatives etc back home.

As was the case with Indians in Malaysia and Sri Lanka, where the women went back home for delivery, not with the intent of getting Indian citizenship for the children but it was because India was where the in laws and all were = support during child birth.

And travel by ship took days.

His father may have been one of them.
