hair dye?

I have dyed my hair the diy way a few times.But some brands are just not strong enough on asian hair and simply damage it.I have used some brands and even after usin em, the colour isnt strong enough(though i picked a few shades lighter than what i wanted).So anyone has any reccommendations on hair dye and their brands?Something which really works and will dye ya hair(duh!).Any colour.

Asian hair is black, so you may have to opt for much lighter shades, another way is to bleach your hair then colour, but it will damage your hair.
