I tried using HWZ once...and twice...but I couldn't decipher anything that was being posted in spite of English words being used without getting a headache. Their England was too powderful.
So, I just used my 1337 skillz instead.

I'd forgotten about that forum. I popped over and skimmed the beginning of a current topic on the arrest of a TWNese 'oppo' politician in SG. Two impressions a) I can't understand the majority of what posters are saying, despite it apparently being in some majority English-based languish [LOL! Accidental typo! - but this is precisely the kind of language/typo that you see there

)). b) Even three pages in, not one person has questioned the veracity of the headline claim that said 'oppo-pol' was standing outside a hotel being photographed wearing a 'sure trouble-makers' political jacket. I.e. a mass assumption that because that's how it was described in the local media it must simply be true?

I used it for the price lists and IIRC, 2-3 times to get some Lian Li hardware from one individual specialising in it. At that time it was much cheaper than in any regular component shop.

Definitely. You missed a great opportunity.
This is how I did it. I used HWZ for SLS based shops price lists - very useful to know what and where and how much before going there. When they restricted the access, I was rather p* off as you could imagine. Then I had this smart and cunning plan. Instead of registering with my IC, later at night when nobody watched I visited individual web pages of the shops and got the price lists from there.
SPH, yuck, so oppressive. If I ever move out from Singapore, I will come back here and post more details about how I tricked the system including the url addresses to the price lists. And I will lmao at those who still use hwz.
if you come from sg to us you will buy a larger suitcase - to "trick the system".
so, beside the fact that you don't like me on a personal basis (and i'm so impressed by this that i'll drink a glass of water to it), any relevant answer?

Just that it's owned by SPH, and all the subscribers must register with IC #

mmm, i see your point now. bark here whatever you want, vote there whatever it's "right".
BTW, i just realized that several bloggers stopped all activities after the elections. were they eliminated or they were so enthusiastic about the results that they decided to just drop it?

That's not tricking the system. That is just utilizing the allowances given. I do the same. I go to the US with a maximum sized checked checked bag (linear 62") and insert the next sized bag inside that and pack the least amount possible in that suitcase and then on the return, I load all of them up to the maximum of 26kg each. No trick. Common Sense. I do realize using common sense would seem like a trick to a lot of people, but really it is just utilizing what is allowed. No trick involved.

New one on me. I always thought MoM mostly OK'ed EP's for large MNC's without asking too many questions. But now, it looks like transferred staff...

Well, that's about as stupid a thing an expat destination could do. I don't expect it to last in it's current form.
