Hello Everyone,
I have decided to get my son (2.5 years right now) an admission to DPS Nursery. I have read a lot of comments in this forum about why Indians not mixing with others. I also agree with you. But the most important problem problem that I face right now back at home is-
1. My son is learning three languages in one time, which is confusing him. (Hindi, English & Marwari)
2. We find him good with Hindi and Marwari. He is picking up English (Can sing most of the Nursery Rhymes, but cannot understand a few questions we ask him in English)
3. Is more of a social animal, I dont know but I find it a confusing to understand that will he easily adapt to the environment here.
I have stayed in many countries before moving to SG 3 weeks back. My son and my wife will be in SG from March next year.
I missed on the PCF mass registration (Landed 2 days later the cutoff)
Other international montessories or pre-schools are beyond my budget. Even GIIS is beyond my financial plan. My wife is going to work from home. So we will have to manage our budgets on 7.5K of my salary/month.
I want to give a cooling off period to my wife and my son to adapt to SG for an year. Want them to know and start understanding the culture. So I am looking for an Indian Community around them, which would help them feel more comfortable. We dont have a problem with living along with other nationals. But I want her to start adapting slowly. Its none of her mistake as she is more of a social person back in India and I am more of a reserved. She would like to go for playdates and also would love to connect to a lot of like minded mothers.
For achieving all this-
I am looking for options to rent HDB/Condo near DPS School. I found out quite a few HDB's around DPS School. But I want to know if there are Indian's staying in them? My budget is around 2K-2.2K/month.
I know it might feel that we only want to stay with indians, but thats not the case, my best friends outside SG are from Dubai and East Europe, but I want my family to adapt - which is a slow process.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

It's like swimming. You never really get really comfortable with it unless somebody throws you in the deep end. It's called total immersion and is quicker by far. In fact, if one only plays in the shallows, one never get fully comfortable in deeper waters so tend to always shy away from it if at all possible. Good Luck.

Yeah @sundaymorningstaple. I am going to throw them at intervals which will be like meeting up with my Singaporean and other nationalities on weekends. It would be more of family lunch and dinners at each others houses. I think that will get them more accustomed to the culture and the process of immersing.
If I hasten the process it might backfire on me. Standing a ground with less choices its going to create a big problem. So, I want to take every step with a lot of caution and patience. After all they are my family
I also want to know your suggestions on the hdb's around aroozoo avenue Mod! Any help will be of a lot of value to me!
Thanks though

While I do live in Aljunied, I'm on the other side of the Serangoon Viaduct so not too familiar with the units around the Kovan Sports Complex, but having said that, the Complex and the park, both within walking distance should be nice plus it's only a 15~17 walk to the Kovan MRT and Heartland Mall. If you are driving you should be okay, but looking at the maps it's about a 10 minute walk to the nearest bus stop. This could be nasty in bad weather. I don't know where on Aroozoo you are so depending on the actual location it might be okay. I was looking from the intersection of Aroozoo and Jln Tenon opposite the park and near to DPS.

International School. Few are available at walking distance of 10 minutes where as few are away. You may check online about available nearby condo.
