Applied for PR - Hoping for the best!

I am new here. Just applied for PR in October for myself and my son. Profile as follows:

Self: 41 years old, Male, Indian, Divorced, Physician, Full Time Management/Research Job, Annual Salary 400K, Over 3 years in Singapore with 3 year tax returns, 5 Years Experience from US, 3 Ministry of Health (MOH) Licenses, Many publications, PEP Work Pass, Regional Head for Medical Research for Major S&P500 Biomedical Research company.
Son: 12 Years old, US Citizen, on DP, Studying in Singapore

I will be keenly waiting for any comments related to the profile. Also, if anybody would relate their experience on how 2015 approvals/rejections and timelines have been, it will be great!

The correct question would be, what's been happening post election.

The policies are being revised I guess, so, at the moment, no answer.

mine already 12months still pending. nowadays it takes longer as compare to previous.

It's possibly taking longer for you as election just went by.

Hi, has anyone ever found a agent or consultancy to help you apply the PR. My problem is that my application was rejected just one and half month after submission. It's too fast to believe that, so I thought maybe some fillings was incorrect but you know ICA will never tell you the reason. Recently I saw some ads from those consultancies, very attractive for me to have a try. Any suggestions from you?

My 2 cents is, unless you are on an investor scheme, an agent adds zero value.

Unless he or she can show 100% success.. he is just charging you for filling the form.

And if they are claiming 90~100% success rates, they are only agreeing to file only the strongest of cases. Anything with a modicum of doubt they won't touch as it detracts from the advertising claims. You need to dig deep into their sites to find it, but it there. Stay away from useless agents, far, far away. And what ever you do, don't use a lawyer to file as that is the giant killer. I know. Been there and don't that. And eventually clawed my way back from the abyss 3 years later.

Hi all, just wanted to update that I am still waiting for the 'pending' status to change to 'approved' or 'rejected'. It has been nearly 9 month since my application and the anxiety is growing by the day. The only positive thing is that it has not been rejected until now although I have seen cases here on the forum where the applicants were rejected after a year of applying!

What does it matter? You have a job and earn an income. When PR comes it comes. Have you looked at the PR process for neighbouring countries? Singapore is a CHARM!

I have lived in multiple countries and I travel a lot in my job. I can safely say that Singapore is one of the best places to raise a family. Yes, there are some compromises but the merits far outperform any downsides. For my profession, Singapore is one of the best places to be. I can much easily get a PR in Australia but I have not even looked in that direction since I am not just looking to get a PR in any country. Thanks for your wise words though. Yes, the job is there and that's a good thing

Dr. Sami, While you have impressive credentials, I believe Singapore government is trying to rebalance the racial imbalance among the resident population, mainly on account of high number of Indian origin PRs. Out of the 527,000 PRs, nearly 100,000 (~19%) are of Indian Origin. PRs are treated as potential pool for citizenship. They seem to be maintaining Citizenship racial balance (Indian origin citizens at ~7+ %). Hence, Singapore government seems to have become very choosy in offering PR or citizenship to Indian origin applicants.

While this is the big picture, your specialised skills and qualifications and high income could make you a more preferred candidate compared to the average Indian origin PR applicant (generally with IT or Finance skills). But the result is anybody's guess.
